How We Operate
Employers contract with SafeHands Flex Care to make backup childcare services available to their employees in their homes. Employees pre-register to use the service by completing a family profile. This gives childcare providers valuable information about the family and the children, such as special needs, allergies, health and dietary needs, and job expectations.
Then, with one phone call, employees who have pre-registered gain access to our extensive pool of in-home caregivers who can come to the employee’s home on short notice.
Employees use backup childcare when:
- Their child is ill with a fever below 103°F.
- Their regular caregiver is ill, on vacation, or has a sudden emergency.
- Their regular childcare arrangements break down and they need time to find a new arrangement.
- Their child’s school or center is closed for a holiday, vacation, teacher training, inclement weather or emergency.
- Unexpected circumstances arise, such as work travel or overtime.
Onsite childcare options:
- Employers may also elect to offer onsite childcare management for employee meetings, conferences and other special events. SafeHands Flex Care brings everything needed for safe, enjoyable onsite childcare to your business—qualified providers, toys, activities, crafts, books and more.
